Haven't been having much luck on the shorelines lately.  A couple of weeks ago couldn't keep bluegills off the worm but now no luck.  Any tips?

went out yesterday evening. The water looks much clearer than a few days ago. Fish still weren't biting though caught a few small crappie but nothing to get excited about.

The color of the lake is from a milk spill up in Monroe it cam in thought the creek some of the color might be from the chemicals to kill of some of the weeds

I agree the water is really green, i think its from the crazy weather. From what i have read its from algea growing. I have also read that it can be very bad for the fish since it uses up all the oxygen in the water. It really concerns me because the fishing has been horrible lately and if doesnt clear up we could have a major fish kill. I think we need a few days of really good rain.

I remember it happening one time when i was younger at a lake in wisconsin, it killed almost every crappie in the lake, you could almost walk across the lake on dead fish.

What is going on with the water in Lake Summerset? The water is cloudy strange color. I don't see geese or ducks. The boat traffic is little-none. I have not received communication from LSA. Does anyone know the status? Is is safe for fishing and swimming? Thanks

The fish were biting like crazy on Saturday May 21st. Caught about 20 fish off the dock with my friends on the neon roadrunners. The shore is very weedy where the fish love to lay. We caught some good crappies, and about 5in fat blue gills. Also caught some nice bass along the shore on the boat.

Slow bite today. Not much to speak about. Marked lots of fish, but not many would pursue. Spillway has a lot of open water around it and you cannot access the lake from there. Main marina was still a good access point. Put the camera down and the water really churned up after the thaw and water flow increase from the creeks.

***warning*** there is a couple of 3 foot holes of open water that some one can fall through if not paying attention, near the opening of tamarack bay.

Hoytman is correct on the gills and crappie being a bit larger, but the bite can be sporadic. The perch population and bite seems to be improving, if you can find the schools. The perch shown here was 11".

Ice is about 13 inches. For now. Panfish action is spotty, but fairly consistent. They seem to average a little bigger this year. with an occasional 12 " crappie, and 9" gills from time to time. Walleyes seem to be more common this year.

we have been going out most evenings and killing the crappie. Seems like between 7 pm and dark. Some nice ones but quite a few little ones. Almost lost the biggest one last night to a huge musky that followed it up to the dock. Luckily he tried to take a bite after i had the crappie out of the water. It was awesome to see him leap for the crappie and almost land on the dock, wish i had a video
