Hey there lsfishclub, Boy you must of been in the right place at the right time to catch 40 keepers out of 65 fish caught. What where the size of the keepers? We caught maybe 25 fish friday with only 4 keepers. Not much size to bluegill and crappie,But we tend to only keep bluegills over 8-9" and crappie over 10".Letting the little ones to grow up.Will be hitting ice after i get home from work on friday. Good luck and tight lines. Nice CAT'S Tull

I seen that last year, it's horrible. Anyone been out? I'm looking to get out there this weekend. Wondering how the lake was looking.

The short answer on the night fishing is a few people ruined it for everyone. Dead minnows laying on the ice, cigarette butts, garbage on the ice in the mornings and no lake security at nights were some of the reasons. I saw a spot one time with a whole bunch of empty peanut shells. Maybe not a big deal to some, but shows a lack of respect and we don't need that IMO. You can fish at night with the welcoming member all you want.

I don't fish for walleyes. Can't help you there with tips. I think they like areas with big elevation changes. Get a lake map and give it a shot.

Unfortunately, the fisherman are the minority in the community. If people want to make a difference, come to a fish club meeting the first thursday each month. I hear a lot of complaints from the peanut gallery, but that doesn't get us very far with issues such as weed coverage. According to the DNR we are at about 15% weeds. Seems when one or two members complains about their "hardship" getting their boats from their shorelines to a "safe" zone away from all the weeds (which is about 6 feet from shore), the alarm bell sounds and the weeds are eliminated. The other problem is the lack of natural shorelines with trees and such. The trend seems to be concrete or steel sea walls and the fertilizer just runs right in the lake. A commitee is actually preparing a sea wall guide to "help" folks plan a better sea wall. The trend for the fishing habitat is not a good one, unfortunately, and that shows with the lesser size and lack of forage. Also, a big problem with carp. I would like to see it be illegal to release carp. We plan on having a better carp tournament this year also. We need volunteers and people to get involved. Everyone that fishes is welcome, whether a member or guest. No cost or obligations.

Have been wanting to get some eyes through the ice, something I have never done before. I was wondering if anyone could help with location or has any advice. Would be much appreciated.

I wish more places would charge a little to fish at them to get some sort of funding for lake management from what I've heard this a good lake and to pay to fish it would be well worth while.

Dues are going up for property owners about the same amount. First time the fishing passes have been raised since 1995. If you fish 4 times a month that's $1.66 a day. Sorry, don't feel your pain.

Does the homeowner have to be with you. I have a buddy that lives out there but there's no way he's ever going to go ice fishing would I be able to go as long as he calls in a pass. I know at lake carroll the property owner has to be with you. Just want to make sure if I went that I'm all legit not breaking any rules thanks for any info
