Lake Summerset, Winnebago County (all postings)

Very slow fishing from 8am till 4pm. Marked a lot on bottom but not biting (high pressure). But did catch and release a very healthy 27" Northern on a small glow jig and 2 lb. line. Personally have never had a fish run like that.

Good day on the ice today fellas. Between two of us had to catch close to 100. Alot of dinks but we managed to get our limit for non members. Non stop action from 12 to 3. Started at sunrise. One walleye 22 inches.

Fished here today from 10am-1pm A few little gills and a couple small crappies. Did manage to reel in a 8lb cat. Fished the Road bed and the point by beach 2. Not to happy with results, but did have fun with my Daughter. A guy came out and told me it was better before there was snow on the ice.

Jack, we moved aound a little bit. Plenty of ice, no open water. We got on at southgate parking lot. Saw a couple guys walk from the swim beach side. across the lake. Tight lines.

Tull, Did you move around much? Just curious if there's 5" of ice all over or just near shore, etc.

Bite was slow today but my buddy managed to get a nice bass.

Went out here yesterday. Stole the old bass boat from my father. Lake was real busy. We got on about 1pm. Fished Tamarack bay only got one pike about 27". Tryed for bass under peirs after that. Only picked up 3. Wrong time of the day to go, but I still enjoyed it.

Went out fishing with my father for his birthday. We fished the south side bays because the wind was strong out there. We managed about 30 bass using 6" yum dingers and wave worms. I rigged mine wacky style using an 1/8 oz. jig head instead of a hook and split shot. Worked very well. I managed the biggest of the day, 18" Large mouth. After the bass I went after the Crappies. Im happy to see they have got a little bigger. I did manage to get 4 nice gills in between that were about 9". Very good day on the water.

Found a nice bunch after work tonight. They're still popping up here, some were 6"+ and some were too small to pick yet.

Crappies should be bitting out here. I have not tryed it yet. I have been to busy fishin for morels. Might go out this weekend and see. I will give a report then.

Thinking about giving it a try this week end. Any good pointers for a newbie to Summerset?

Its time to start open water out here. A friend of mine got two pikes last week. Im going to start going after the eyes. Fishin Pole IM me if you wanna hook up. Last year red rattle traps reeled in some big bass too.
