FISHING REPORT
3/9/11 10:17 PM CST
Conditions: Partly Sunny
now realizing that my last question was stupid. Tounge Out i went to motrose on tuesday throwing kastmasters, rattletraps and shadraps. i fished with a friend for 5 hoiurs with no results couldnt find the fish or the right speed to retrieve but one person said they caught a small brown on a spoon. what are the rigs that people use with a million hooks and no rod? it reminds me of a trotline. is this what people call powerlines? just curious. also any tips would be helpful in terms of retrieve.

Ohyea247 you need to have a Lake michigan salmon/trout stamp and the kastmasters are half ounce, but 3 quarter ounce will work also they have in the past. I will probably be out there again Thursday morning and will give another report. Good luck and tight lines!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ohyeah- you will need a LM salmon stamp to take any of the trout/salmon - this is different than the inland trout stamp.

Hit Montrose harbor at sunrise got on perch imediately. All perch seemed to be suspended at 8 to 12 ft of water. Caught dinks all day fished till 2:30. I was suprised and sickend by how many people were keeping perch 3 to 6 inches long and more than a 15 creel limit. I think DNR really needs to put a size limit on the perch like 8 or 10 inch minimums. I feel they need to make more of an apearance in the harbors to discourage people from takeing more than they are entitled to and check those liscenses. If this keeps up this great perch fishery will no longer exist. Sry guys and gals just venting, but otherwise lots of tight lines and thats what we look for. Good luck fishin everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
