Fished the dam Friday evening. The dam was partially closed. No current on the East side. The Island was exposed, water level way down. Only a couple of fisherman around. No current so went down stream past the Island and found some good current. Nothing biting. Tried Jig and Minnows and crawlers and cranks. Nothing, but an awesome evening to be out by the water.

There have been plenty of boats out there over the last few weeks. Certainly all of the launches are ice free now... I know the Burtons Bridge launch is open, not sure about others.

I think the dead fish are shad. http://www.tva.com/river/neighbors/feb09/shad.htm

So are boats on the river yet? What launches are open if they are?

Did some dam walleye fishing on Tuesday, from about 4 pm - close. I was at the bottom of the wall jiggin' one pole, slip-bobber on the other. Nothing. A guy on the wall next to me landed a nice one, somewhere in the slot limit, and released it. I heard earlier, people in boats did good on some small males.

Fished today, very slow !!! To the guys in the grey Lund pro v, do not throw your cigerette butts in the water. I have your registration numbers and will call you in if you continue to do so. First offense is $500
