Water is still above normal and somewhat murky. If we don't get any rain during the week it should improve somewhat by the weekend.

Spent all morning into afternoon running around plum island and the dam looking for white bass. Saw a couple of guys pulling a bunch out by where the creek feeds in by the dam, but we only managed a couple all day. Caught a huge sheep head, a decent cat, and a ton of some slimy junk fish that I have no idea what it is. They fought hard, and the kids had a ball catching them, but the white bass were elusive. This was my first time to the Illinois looking for white bass, as I usually head north to the wolf. Not sure if I'm just early, or if what works up there isn't as effective here. If anyone has any idea what the fish we were managing to land are, I'd love to know. Tight lines!
