Not a report. Please see above post. If you are a paddler and agree that the ordinance needs to change, please PM me. Maybe if I have enough in disagreement of the ordinance and show it to the Park District they may change it .

Out this afternoon on the kayak. Lots of action with 6 LM Bass (14-16") 1 short(16") Walleye, and 3 Channel cats. Cats were a lot of fun and very aggressive, hitting jig/gulp minnow on swimming retrieve. Kept the Cats for the pan.

When I returned to the Main Beach ramp I found a warning on my car for parking within the gate without a trailer! It's BS that although one purchases  a gate key, THE MAN will come down on you if using a roof rack. What ever happened to first come, first served ? I pay the same fee as everyone else, but if I choose to paddle that day, I risk getting a ticket.

THAT IS F'D UP!!!

was out 8:30am until noon. First drop of gulp minnow in 18 FOW produced a heavy fish I never saw (Pike?) Never was able to get it to come up, then on one run it parted ways with my 3 lb leader Crying. Better days coming, IF it EVER warms up!!!

Does anyone have a current ice thickness report as of this weekend? Thinking about going out once more if safe enough.

Fished off the west end beach house from 1pm until about 430pm. Caught 4 small gills on a purple tungsten tipped with a waxie. Saw 2 decent sized pike swim past the hole. I'd range em from 24"-29". Had 1 flag go off to the east of me, 6 feet down with a roach landed a 21" pike. Water was extremely clear and most of the smaller fish were heavily attracted to very active jigging.

the CL Park District probably locked them due to the recent warm up. They always err on the side of caution which can get frustrating, but to have the gates open tells anyone the ice is safe everywhere. It's a liability thing. You can probably enter through the park on the far west end though parking is limited there.

Anyone know why ALL gates were locked? Tried to access today but they had all gates with locks and chains.
