tradin , if youare going N on rt.12 turn right at the rt 134 light (the old Big Hollow school ) go to the next light at Wilson rd and turn left onto Wilson , about two blocks after crossing the railroad tracks as you cross Squaw creek it is immediately on your LEFT with the lake to your right. After you launch you go thru the channel under Wilson road to the lake. I hope this helps_

FISHING REPORT
8/24/09 6:20 PM CST
Conditions: Sunny Air Temp: 76° - 80º F
Was out this morning. Caught the usual 8 or 9 crappies and a few decent sized bluegill. Wouldn't have kept them but I promised a friend. Lots of bass in the shady shallows.

mrbrain, count your launch fee blessings. Unless it changed this year due to the economy last years rates and still posted two months ago was $10 on weekdays, $15 on weekends and $20 on holiday weekends so if you only paid 15 you got off with a discount and this is why if I get a chance I may go there on a weekday but that's it. Just an fyi if you plan on heading back, it is a nice lake and good people that run the launch.

FISHING REPORT
3/21/09 8:38 PM CST
Conditions: Sunny
I hit Long for a few hours today to see if the bass were hungry, and they were. We caught 12 keepers and 3 shorts on a mix of cranks and jigs. All of our fish were found in channels which consequently had the warmest water. The fish were all located in shallow water, 1-3 FOW. It's tough out there, but you can catch em if you are out there. All fish released to fight another day. Tight lines!!!!

Just wondering now that the bar across the street is closed where can you park for this lake, I read the report but this was a good lake for me in the shallows by the tracks

BANNER DAY ON LONG!!!! BRING ALL YOUR FRIENDS THIS WEEKEND!!! Got the ole Long Lake Loner Perch (about 5" . . . see photo . . . had to zoom in on it to make it look as big as the ones Ice Geo caught) in the first 15 minutes out there and nothing else all day except for one gill.

Someone has to show me the hot spots . . . especially where those 9 foot long gills hide!

9' = nine feet . . . . 9" = nine inches

Ice Geo, I'm glad you were able to finally find a place to park, see ya out there! Was that you in the blue shack? Ice Geo, let's see some pics of those nice fish!

Sorry about that report, i was giving my honest opinion about the lake. i don't think theres a need to call me an idiot or POS for an opinion. but owell. did great on channel lake by the way, caught more fish in one day than the last 4 years i caught on long. but i guess ill wait till summer and take the boat on long and be a little more agile. good luck to all.
