MOON PHASE
New Moon

used the boat ramp between Harrison & Shirland at the junction of the Pec & Sugar rivers,it is in good shape.the river is maybe 3' high but current conditions are good.that was the good news.the bad news is was a not so good bite.we tried everything for catfish except stink bait,my mistake maybe.anyway it was a real slow bite and with the few bites we did have were just peck & leavers.after about 4 hours we only got 1 flathead about 6" 1 channel about 15" & 1 sheepshead about 12".my buddy did get a white sucker that was just under 20" which is one of the larger I've ever seen..we tried shallow, deep, current breaks, above & below snags & tried everything except DYNOMITE.I was raised in this area, know the river very well and usually do pretty good on the catfish so I guess it was my day in the goat house.my buddy said no tip for the guide today,haha....all & all it was another good day for a boat ride traveling about 2 miles upstream, not another boat on the river.

                                                    fair winds & good luck

Thanks for the heads up VexilarMan. Oh, by the way, here is the state regulation on trotlines and bank poles. You accused me of illegally placing five bank poles over the summer on the Rock River. Try reading the guidelines before hopping up on the soapbox. Just so you are aware I am a combat vet, medical student, and I largely practice catch and release.

ON WATERS WITHOUT THE 2 POLES AND LINES FISHING ONLY restriction, up to 50 hooks in total may be used legally on devices permitted under a sport fishing license. Legal devices include: bank poles and lines, dip nets, throw lines, trot lines, buoyed devices (jug fishing), gigs, spears, bow and arrow, and bow and arrow devices

This is a helpful gauge. Water is pretty low and hardly moving
