Hi Everyone, Winter Lake Users are CAUTIONED that the sediment pipeline used in the dredging project will remain in place in the West Bay for the winter. While much of the pipeline will be submerged below or barely protrude above the ice surface, the dredge contractor has marked the pipeline alignment. See the December Lake Managers report on the MPOA website www.wlmpoa.org & feel free to call the MPOA office 815/653-4136 Thanks, Kathy

One has to remember there is no such thing as safe ice. That said. Some folks are doing quite well on big gills and perch out there. Bring a spud bar, flotation device, rope and your picks of life if you do venture out on the skinny stuff. But most of all. Never go out alone.

The ice thickness is inconsistent. Unless your very experianced and use a spud bar just stay off the lake. No fish I ever caught is worth gettin in a jam. Be safe.

Hi Everyone, My name is Ellen Cole and I am a Masters student in the Biology Department at Loyola University Chicago. As part of my thesis work, I have developed an online survey which examines the knowledge and prevention practices of recreational water users in regards to aquatic invasive species. The results of this survey will help us better understand the outreach, education and extension efforts conducted around aquatic invasive species in our state. I hope you might be able to take the survey using the link below: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/IL_lakes Thank you very much in advance for your help with my research project. If you have any questions, please contact me at the following: ecole3@luc.edu, 773 508 2056 or 773 508 2067. Sincerely, Ellen Cole

Bluegill are tearing it up out there. Trout worms are the key.

Hello, MPOA decals are not required if you are just going to fish the Sportsman's club derby. Sign in on their log and then leave the water when over. You do need decals for the rest of the boating season otherwise. MPOA hours M-F 9-3 Sat 10-1 closed on sundays 815/653-4136

Kathy
