Was out at daylight 06/29/10, and fished till late afternoon. Caught a lot of small Saugeye, and 5 keepers. One of which was 18.5 inches, and one which was 25.5". Caught a couple, including the larger one on a Chartruese curly tail tipped with a short piece of worm. Caught two including the 18.5" on a Chartruse spinner rig with a water leech.(I think red is better) Caught the other one on a small lure trolling. The wind was out of the north, and light. Hard to find them, but the few that were feeding were willing. Also caught a couple of 18" muskies trolling. Nice to see them.

My son hooked a nice muskie this morning. Came up out of the water and threw the hook. First hookup of the year for us (4th trip).

Got to the lake about 3:30 yesterday. Pretty windy, but nice out. Spent about 2 hours chasing fish around (tried jigs and crankbaits) with not even so much as a bite. Between 5:30 and 6:00 I found a little school in one of the bays (out of the wind) and managed to catch 5 or 6 saugeye, including a couple keepers. Once the wind calmed down a little bit (just enough for a perfect drift), I drifted with jig and gulp bait and picked up three more keepers. Got off the lake just before the storms rolled in. 5 keeper saugeye... just enough to feed the five members of my family - a perfect night. Tight lines everyone! Walleye Run Bob

Tough day on Evergreen lake. We got on the lake at 11:15 after trying Lake Bloomington with no luck there. We fished 'til 1:30 and started trolling with no luck. Next, we found some downed trees next to the bank and caught 2 crappie. We then threw jigs up to the bank just behind the swimming area and caught a 14.5" saugeye. Not hardly worth the $16 we paid for a single day on the lake.

goodstick, glad to hear you are starting to see a saugeye bite. I've been working the lake pretty hard with the old jig and half-a-crawler trick - shallow, medium, and deep. Only thing I've been able to pick up are crappie, yellow and white bass (one that went almost 18"). Gonna have to go back with "Gulp" and give it another go. Tight lines all!

Found saugeye on the weed edges in 8-10 feet of water. Crappie were a little deeper 10-12. White bass were sporadic at both depths. All-in-all a pretty good night. Caught 8 or 9 saugeye, about 15 crappie, and quite a few white bass. 3 of the saugeye were over 14", 5 of the crappie were in the 10" range. All fish released.

I had a good evening saugeye fishing - catching 9 or 10 between 8:00 - 9:30 PM (Including 3 for the dinner table). The wind pushed them up pretty shallow. All fish were caught between 9-13 feet of water on a jig and 3" Gulp plastic minnows. This presentation also yielded about a dozen small crappie (8 3/4" - not 9). All-in-all a good night for only a couple hours of fishing. Good luck out there everyone!
