Fished both days Sat and Sun last week, picked up crappies shallow, fished with small minnows and plain hook under bobber about 2 ft down, all around stickups, on the crawler harnesses are you pulling them on bottom bouncers or in line weights, thanks, joe

Hey Nasty you can pull crank baits or pull crawler harnesses. 10 to 12 FOW search with the cranks then fish for them with crawlers. Care to share how you catch the crappie going sat with friends that are not walleye fishermen so will have to go after panfish Hope this helps anyone know how deep and what to use for the crappie. Thanks Blue

Hey guys just looking for a tips for saugeye fishing. I fish for a crappie all the time just trying to mix it up. Is trolling, drifting or jigging better? Just any info would be appreciated.

Fished from 11:30 to 3:30 today. Caught a half dozen nice (10"-12") crappie, four on minnows and one on a wax worm under slip bobbers, and one on a white jig and plastic. All caught in the first hour on the west side of the island immediately adjacent to the launch (trying to stay out of the 15 mph east wind) in about 8 feet of water. All still swimming. First time ever on this lake, but will be back; earlier in the day next time.

After a long day Saturday ... finally managed to find the saugeye in 7-10 feet of water along the weed edges. The key (reinforced on Sunday)... fishing during the light changes (dawn and dusk). Once they were hitting, they were hitting everything (plastic, crawlers, minnows) - at one point, while fishing two rods - had a fish on each rod (both keepers).

Out of curiosity, anyone finding them during the daytime right now? If so, are you willing to share what depth/lure combos.

dream22-i was trying for crappie. never have targeted walleye, only been hitting evergreen for 2 years now but heard walleye/sauger fishing can be excellent.

Daddyd what were you targeting? What works best for sauger this time of year? Jigging, trolling, etc

Went fishing for the first time on this lake from 830-330. Landed a 40" ski on a point on a flat just by the dam. Fish was in less than 2' of water. Saw an even bigger fish nearby in deeper water and saw a couple of lone gizzard shad right by him.

I just handled 88 muskies out of Evergreen yesterday. Weighed, measured and right back into the water.

Rea, the muskies are right at the beginning of spawn right now. Might be pretty slow fishing for you.
