Hi, can someone please tell me what the limit & size on crappie are?
Are there white bass on rend?
Had a last minute cancellation for tomorrow Saturday the 22nd if anyone wants a trip it is the only day we have available in April or May. Give me a call 618-472-4763 Nick.
Fishing is still going goodperiod we are catching fish in eight inches to 16 inches water fishing minnows and jigs in the heavy buckbrush.
Crappie are in the bushes. We are catching crappie in 8" to 16" of water in the buck brush. The lake is low. We could use a couple of good rains as the lake could use another 2'+ of water to get it up where is usually is this time of year. That being said we are still getting good numbers of fish and some really nice ones too. Most days we are getting our limit of over ten inch fish and 10-15 good unders.
We are very booked but I have had a cancellation for this Thursday the 20th or the next available day we have is May 31st. Post spawn crappie and catfish trips are also booking fast for June and July so give us a call to get in on the action! 618-472-4763
Some more clients today that came down to Rend Lake from seeing our reports here on lake-link. Terry and Keith had a good day. (By the way those aren't small crappie, that is a huge channel cat Keith landed on 6lb test. It weighed 9lb 6oz.
The crappie are close to going shallow, water temp is 56. We still have a few openings in April & May give us a call and come fish with us. Also booking catfish trips for the summer both rod and reel and noodling. Call Bob 618-231-1417 or Nick 618-472-4763
Hired Nick Shafer of Crappie Predator Guide Service Friday March 24th on Rend Lake. Warm but windy day made for a slow bite at times, but Nick still managed to put 47 keeper crappie in the boat. Nick did an excellent job with boat control under tough wind and current conditions. Also impressed with his knowledge of the lake and ability to adjust on the fly. Would recommend him to anyone heading to Southern Illinois for a crappie fishing trip. A great aspect of Nick and Bob's service is they cleaned the fish. And in short order too. For someone who had a 5 hour trip home this is greatly appreciated. I have hired other guides before and they just handed you the fish to take home whole in a cooler.
